Select Members by Member Number

Select one or more members by their member number [num].

1 . Click the Select Members by Member Number icon, which is pictured above. The icon can be found on the Tools page > Selection section.

Alternative: Invoke Select Members by Member Number using the Find Tool by searching the command name and clicking the icon, which is pictured above.

2 . A selection dialog opens. On it is a list of members that are referenced by their member number [num] and piecemark. All members are listed except those that are hidden. Select from the list one or more member numbers that you want and press OK to select those members in your model.

Alternative: Click Cancel to end the command without selecting any members.

  • You might do this to find a particular member in the model, or as an alternative to Select Items Mode.
  • You can select members that are not in your current view—something you can't do in the Model Tree. You can also select members that you cannot see.
  • Look at the selection count if you want to know how many members are selected.
